From musician to award-winning stylist and platform artist, Joseph Cartegena’s transition was meant to be. "I had the calling to be a hairdresser," says Cartegena. "I created and cut the hair of all my band members. In that I found my calling."
Now, after 26 years in the beauty industry, Cartegena oversees everything on the salon floor as Director Stylist and President of Genacelli Salon and Day Spa. As the newly elected President of Cosmetologists Chicago Board of Directors, Cartegena takes a hands-on roll in Chicago's America's Beauty Show.
