It’s true – we took America’s Beauty Show by ‘social’ storm and must admit, it was quite the time! If you weren’t able to be there in person, we made it our business to check out all of the social pit stops along the way! Then, of course, we had to create a “Storify” to pull together all of the fun for you to peruse.

(Side note: not sure what Storify is? Stay tuned, we’ll profile this social media curation tool in an upcoming blog)

America’s Beauty Show, “Social” Wrap-Up!From giant QR codes and a life-sized interactive iPhone at the Wella Professional booth to Cosmoprof's "Facebook Superhero Wall" there were many visual representations of social media's viral power throughout the show floor. In fact, I even noticed an interactive mobile text-to-enter coupon program in action (shout out to Sam Villa and team!). It was truly amazing to see all of the unique ways social media has started to infiltrate our industry – kudos to all of the manufacturers and individuals for hopping on the social bandwagon.

In addition to the activities on the show floor, I also had the opportunity to share my knowledge on social media at two separate events. This year, Fabio Sementilli, Creative Director for Wella, created an “Industry All-Star Panel” that was held Saturday night before the ABS BeautyBASH event. I was honored to be among industry experts such as Mark Hayes (Sassoon), Tracey Hughes (Tracey Hughes Education), Richard Ashforth (Saco), Jan Arnold (CND/Shellac) and my friends Randy Taylor and Gerard Scarpaci (Hairbrained), where I shared our Style Sync social media equation on how to properly build your social persona. And – another side note – have you checked our

Our team also hosted an incredible social media training class where we explored the emotional, technical and promotional aspects of generating success with social media. Stylists from all over the country participated and shared their experiences!

It's amazing to see the salon industry exploring the different benefits of social media and we cannot wait to see where social media will take the industry in the next year! In fact, who’s ready for #ABS14?
