Malibu C Rescues Splash's Brandi ChastainHow does three months of long days in the swimming pool impact long hair? Olympic Champion and Reality TV Star Brandi Chastain can tell you.

Chastain, a professional soccer player and former Olympian, recently signed up as one of the contestants on Splash!, ABC's reality series that pitted celebrities against one another in a platform diving competition. One of Chastain's diving coaches was Cassidy Krug, who recently competed in diving at the 2012 London Olympics.

When Krug returned from the London Games, she consulted her friend and stylist Karie Bennett, owner of Atelier Salon and Spa in San Jose, California, who throughout a life of constant diving training always put her hair in a ponytail because the damage from the pool made it too challenging to style. Bennett suggested a healthy cut along with a Malibu Makeover treatment and documented the makeover for a Process step-by-step which was published in the June 2013 issue of MODERN SALON. The Malibu C Makeover is a two-step, in-salon wellness treatment provides dramatic revitalizing results to hair and scalp that has hard water mineral build-up and is oxidized, damaged or over-processed. Fresh-dried vitamins and proteins of various molecular sizes replace the need for clarifiers and deep conditioners that can otherwise leave the hair dry and coated.

Chastain followed Coach Krug's advice both in and out of the pool and once her days on Splash came to an end, she found her way to Atelier and Bennett's chair. Here, Bennett shares some before and after pictures and a video of Chastain after the treatment. "I spent a good three months in the pool for Splash! and my hair was a disaster. It would take me 15-20 minutes a day just to comb through the ends," says Chastain. "My goal was to brush through it without wanting to cry, and now it feels smooth and silky, it's easy to comb through and brush through and it flows better and looks better."
