MODERN Will Be Reporting from America's Beauty Show This Weekend!

The professional beauty industry gathers in downtown Chicago this weekend, March 3-5, for America’s Beauty Show at McCormick Place. The entire editorial team of MODERN SALON Media will be reporting live on all the education, inspiration and collaboration.  We’ll be capturing video, sharing photos, and posting non-stop about featured artists, style trends, product news and more on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest (one of our new accounts) and on the ABS events page on modernsalon.com!

If you are coming to the show, say hello at MODERN’s Booth 299 and visit our Texture Pavilion at stage #233. The MODERN team will also be at the special BeautyBASH Saturday night, joining the industry in celebrating Cosmetologists Chicago’s centennial anniversary and “100 Years of Beauty.” Read on for more ABS details.

TEXTURE LIVE!
There’s a lot of buzz about texture in fashion and hair trends this year, and also about the new TEXTURE! Pavilion at ABS. Celebrating our third year of partnership between MODERN SALON and Texture Media/NaturallyCurly.com, TEXTURE LIVE! is moving out of the workshop classroom and onto the main floor. Come experience the “up  close and personal” demos of specialized texture education from our sponsors, including a special segment with Farouk artists styling TEXTURE cover model Miss Universe Leila Lopes of Angola on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. This appearance is followed by a special autograph signing and photo op at MODERN’s booth 299 at 10:30.

BEAUTY BASH
It’s THE Saturday night party at America’s Beauty Show, and MODERN SALON Media Editors will be celebrating Cosmetologist Chicago’s (CC) 100 Years of Beauty and Pivot Point International’s 50 Years of Education at the BeautyBASH party. The event will not only pay tribute to both of these prestigious organizations, it will feature a fashion show of looks through the past 100 years by Chicago salons and VIP manufacturers and a presentation of “the future” by Pivot Point students on mannequins.

If you would like to be part of the event, you can purchase tickets onsite at America’s Beauty Show either at ABS Registration or upon arrival at the BeautyBASH. (Tickets cost $85 each and proceeds benefit the CC Presidents Scholarship Fund).

THE HISTORY, THE FUTURE

Join FIRST CHAIR Editor  and cosmetology graduate Alison Shipley and other celebrity stylists and beauty icons as they share how beauty changed their lives at the interactive and inspirational 2012 School Assembly, presented by AACS and CC. From being a stylist to a salon owner to developing your own product line, the beauty industry can offer a diverse path to success!
