With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season also comes a great opportunity to boost your salon traffic…After all, it’s the most wonderful time of the year to showcase your new ‘do, right?

So, how can you avoid the push and shove of holiday Internet promotions and stand out? With a Facebook offer.  By creating unique online offer on Facebook, you can profit from a social media promotion tool designed to easily reward you – and your clients.

Here’s a quick rundown of why Facebook offers are an important tool to utilize:

1. Expand your audience.  Whenever one of your current followers clicks on your published offer, countless other Facebook users will be notified; when the link is clicked, the Facebook friends of the client who claimed the offer will also see the promotion in their personal News Feeds. Essentially, people will be spreading the word about your promotion to other potential clients.

2. Increase page traffic. Offers provide great incentives for current Facebook fans of your salon’s page to generate participation on your future postings a well. Think of it as an added benefit of introducing new fans to ‘like’ your page.

3. Raise awareness and offer exclusive deals. If you create an impression of exclusivity within your offer, people will be more likely to “watch” your Facebook page to capture deals at the first signs of posting. Be sure to limit the availability of your offer – it gives your fan the sense of immediacy, encouraging them to take action to redeem your offer.

It’s a win-win, right? Now, time to get down to business. I’ve put together a few best practices when it comes to creating your actual offer:

Holiday Exclusive: Boosting Your Salon TrafficHeadline: Get creative! What offer is top of mind for your clients? Perhaps a holiday party or New Year’s Eve up do? Be sure to talk about it in a fun way to grab their attention.

Image: Upload a new image or choose a relevant photo from your gallery that portrays the fabulous work that you create in the salon.

Audience: Select a target audience that is a fairly local, yet keep in mind, you will would like to draw in a ‘new’ audience. You can select a variety of nearby cities and target your audience by gender and age.

Boost Your Offer: You can choose to promote your online offer with designated dollar amounts to reach an estimated audience. As you might guess, the more money you dedicate towards paid promotion, the larger your audience and reach.

Claim Limit: Be sure to choose a claim limit that is fair, but also limited. You will create added value to your online offer if your claim limit was five, instead of 100.

Terms and Conditions: Include any information that your customers may need to know. This can include restrictions on minimum spending amount; to specific days of the week the promotion can be used.

You can find the “Offer” button option within your comment box on your salon’s professional Facebook page. So what are you waiting for? Get started – experiment and be sure to keep me updated with your findings!
