If you are planning on attending the International Salon & Spa Expo (ISSE) don't forget to purchase tickets for the Legends and Icons Charity Gala. The event, which was established by the National Cosmetology Association, is making its debut at ISSE following the merger of NCA and the Professional Beauty Association, sponsors of ISSE.

The ball was created by NCA to celebrate the creative talent that makes the professional salon and spa industry so unique. This year's event will be co-chaired by NCA President Mark Goodman and Bruce Selan, chair of the PBA board of directors and vice president of Zotos International.

The evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing will benefit the NCA Cares Fund, the association's fund raising arm that supports Look Good…Feel Better, Cut it Out/Salons Against Domestic Abuse and the NCA Disaster Relief Fund.

As the name implies, the Legends and Icons Ball honors industry leaders whose contributions and support have made them legends. This year, PBA and NCA will bestow the designation of Legend on Ann Mincey, veteran Redken executive and mentor and role model to countless salon professionals.

Icon awards will be presented to world recognized stylists Robert Cromeans, global artistic director for John Paul Mitchell Systems, and to Sonya and Christopher Dove, creative directors for Wella Professionals.

Ticket prices for the Legends and Icons Gala are $150 for PBA and NCA members and $175 for non-members. The event will be held Saturday January 30, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach Hotel from 7 until 10 pm.
Tickets can be purchased online when registering for ISSE or by contacting NCA at ncacares.org or by calling 800-468-2274.
