As Valentine’s Day approaches, love is in the hair, and a new campaign is uniting San Diego-based Bellus Academy with local salons and spas to raise awareness of careers in the professional beauty and wellness industry.

Launching Thursday, January 25, the campaign invites 40 partner salons to each award up to 10 tuition scholarships funded by Bellus Academy. Collectively, each $1,000 scholarship represents a combined scholarship award of $400,000.

The campaign is inspired by a Career Education Colleges and Universities (CECU) report showing the U.S. will need 1 million beauty and wellness professionals in the next decade to meet employer demand. The "We Love Our Jobs" campaign celebrates the qualities that beauty and wellness professionals love most about their careers including life/work balance, a low-stress work environment and the opportunity to help people look and feel better.

“We were inspired by a Reuters news service article that reported just 14% of Americans have their dream job,” said Lynelle Lynch, president and owner of Bellus Academy. “By engaging the authentic voices of salon and spa professionals who love their jobs, we’re taking a grassroots approach to communicate the diverse career rewards available to licensed beauty and wellness professionals.

Each participating salon will receive branded collateral designed to spark the career conversation between beauty professional and client. The campaign complements a national “Get Your Dream Job” campaign launched in 2017 by the International Spa Association and Beauty Changes Lives Foundation
