Heaven A Hair Boutique owner Renee Sudol began her career 25 years ago and has worked with premiere names in the beauty industry, traveling around the United States and Europe to attend classes with many top rated salon product companies. She developed a love for Keratase and chose to be a L'Oreal based salon while visiting the L'Oreal Academy in Barcelona, Spain. Over the years, she has increased her product knowledge and professional skills with certifications in many additional companies, such as Wella, Framesi, Nioxin, Great Lengths, and of course, L'Oreal.

After many years standing behind a styling chair, Renee decided that it was time to ascend to a new level of the business by opening her own salon with her brother and her partner, Ron. She had a vision to create a lavish environment that featured exclusive artistry combined with the best atmosphere and experience for her clients.

The location that Renee found for her salon exceeded her expectations, with surrounding windows that provided a sunlit and serene setting. However, the perfection of the extensive natural lighting presented a challenge to the salon design by limiting available wall space.

To transform the space into the salon, Renee and Ron chose to work with Milton Santos of Salon Interiors in South Hackensack, NJ. "Working with Milton from Salon Interiors was an amazing experience. His knowledge of floor plans, materials, and measurements made this project run quite smoothly. He was patient and kind. Milton was determined to turn my dream into a reality," says Renee. "He even took the time to adjust our architect's lighting plans and correct the lighting direction."

To accommodate the limited wall issues, the floor plan had to incorporate all free standing styling stations, low-height cabinetry and backwash shampoo units that would all stand on open floor space. Furniture color selections called for basic white or soft muted grey finishes, with pops of bright turquoise in the chandelier and decorative glassware throughout the salon. In addition, Renee wanted to have a "focal point" that promoted interaction and creativity between staff and guests; this inspired a state-of-the-art color bar that features product storage and an open dispensary. The use of transparent hydraulic Ghost chairs contributes to the open and calm atmosphere.

Renee's favorite part of owning a salon and working in the beauty industry is making people feel good about themselves. "There are not too many industries where you can be in someone's intimate space, creating an experience where they can relax and spend some time on themselves, while keeping them on trend," she says. "I am blessed to have an amazing team of stylists that have 20 years of experience. They are experts in hair culture and strive to educate our upcoming assistants, strengthening our team from the inside. They have adopted my dream and we are striving to create the most impeccable hair experience for our guests."

The Heaven mission statement says it all: "To provide an inviting lavish experience, mingled with warm personality in an unrivaled, graceful surrounding of exclusive artistry...heaven ".
