Owner’s Comment:

“The rust pantina steel panels in the reception area, on the stations and in the wash area were created by local female ironworker Diana Cooper-Smith, who has also worked on the Golden Gate Bridge and with artist Richard Serra. We love that it brings an element of Earth into the space.”

Judges’ Comments:

“Very warm, but chic lofty feeling—love the earth tone patina metal panels.”—Grissler

“The unique spiral staircase and lime green lamps are just two of the geatures that give this salon a look all its own and complement the exposed duct work for a look that is industrial, but friendly.”—Hillenmeyer

“The owner’s pride for the Bay area shows through the design, by incorporating both the color of the Golden Gate bridge and the work of an artist who worked on it.”—Martin
