I love a great business tip, especially when involves the SALON TODAY 200. On the expo floor of Serious Business 2013 in New Orleans I ran into Wendy White-McCown, owner of Signatures Salon in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and her sister Lensi White-Levy, a Signatures stylist.

Like many ST200 salon owners, Wendy used the magazine cover image we sent in the SALON TODAY 200 publicity kits to create a large banner to hang in her salon—celebrating  the honor with her staff and announcing it to her guests. After the banner had run its course and it was time to take it down, the green-minded Wendy found another purpose for it. Her grandmother used the banner material to create this colorful and creative tote bag, which Wendy brought along this year to Serious Business. So now she has a subtle was to celebrate her honor everywhere she goes.

I love this tote and find myself hoping Wendy has some leftover material from this year’s banner!
