What is the book about?

This book helps readers understand the emotions they’ve experienced all their lives. Instead of out-of-control, knee-jerk reactions that most people have to their everchanging life experience, they'll learn to put those responses into a broader context. They’ll begin to understand what emotions are, what each of them means, and how to effectively utilize their new awareness of them.

What was the biggest takeaway message for you?
The impact that our emotions have on our mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. In a nutshell, we have a tendency to interpret our emotions as reality and that our emotions are happening to us rather than being generated by us. Emotions in actuality are a by-product of our thoughts.

When our thoughts are positive, our emotions feel positive and our body responds by being balanced, centered and calm. When our thoughts are negative, our emotions follow and we will begin to feel negative, stressed, weighed down and even toxic. It is said that the average person has between 50,000-70,000 thoughts a day and 80 percent of these thoughts are negative. Imagine our world if this was reversed and 80 percent of our thoughts were positive.

What idea did you implement into your business life?
The concept that other people and circumstances do not make me feel a certain way. I feel negative or positive based on the way I am thinking at any given moment. If I am feeling negative or begin having too many negative thoughts, it is the first indicator that I need to stop and pay attention to my own needs. It is a red flag that I need to take time, refuel and gain perspective.

Why would you recommend this book to other professionals/clients?
It is much more satisfying to know that we are in control of our emotional wellbeing. When you stop being a victim and begin taking accountability for yourself you can begin to require that others in your life do the same. You will feel better, live longer and attract more of what you want if you think positive.
